DVC-4 DRIVER INSTALLATION The DVC-4 Controller will operate on all Windows platforms. There are two different drivers provided: the original Version 2.0 for Windows 95/98/Me installations and Version 2.2X for Windows NT/2000/Xp installations. This is necessary because of the Windows NT security philosophy which restricts hardware access. When the software is installed, the Win NT/Xp/2000 driver is automatically installed, and an extra copy of it is located in the Drivers\WinNT/Xp folder on the installation disk. The older version 2.0 driver is located in the Drivers\Win98Me folder and is no longer used. To upgrade a system for with a new driver, download and save the new driver and copy it into the WINNT\System32 folder; click YES when prompted whether to overwrite the existing driver ( Dvc32dll.dll ). Note that they both have the same name, so be careful to keep them straight. Running the DVC-4 software and clicking on the HELP|ABOUT SOFTWARE menu will reasd out the driver version installed; it should be 2.22 with the upgrade. To reconfigure back, copy the original driver back, or do an uninstall and reinstall the software. If the 95/98/Me driver is used on an NT system, the busscheck will fail and the program will be put in the demo. The system may also generate error messages that terminate the program. Verify the driver with the HELP|ABOUT SOFTWARE menu; DLL VErsion 2.0x is the Win95/98/Me version and 2.2x is the Win NT/2000/Xp version. Revised 12/20/2006
